The growing popularity of the bully dog breed is something to marvel at, as these dogs have now become the most popular breed in 21 U.S. states. This makes up approximately 20% of the country’s dog population and 18 million dogs across all 50 states. Some of this popularity can be explained by the fact that bully breeds are among the top-percentile of best-tempered dogs. In addition, bullies hail from around the globe, as new types of bullies are being recognized as recently as 2010.
This growth has caused bullies to now claim 15 spots in the top 87 dog breeds in the United States, per the American Kennel Club. In fact, the French Bulldog has snagged the number one spot from the Labrador Retriever, ending its over 30 year hold on that number one slot. It is for these reasons that bully breeds are piquing the interest of people across the nation. Dubbed as “America’s Dogs” bullies are sure to provide the companionship and joy that so many individuals and families are looking for in a furry friend.
