Higher education matters, and in Kentucky, the Kentucky Student Success Collaborative (KYSSC) is working towards creating a brighter future for learners across the state. The Kentucky education system is working towards a goal of 60% of their citizens holding a postsecondary credential by 2030. In order to achieve this, the KYSSC has partnered with the James Graham Brown Foundation. With the financial support from this foundation, the collaborative has been able to begin to tackle some of the challenges that the education system is currently facing.
Key groups of learners are still seeing enrollment decline, and the state of Kentucky is still below the national average for degree attainment. However, thanks to work by the KYSSC, student needs are better supported and the degree attainment process is becoming streamlined. More people than ever will have access to education and will be supported along that journey thanks to their work. From improving transfer pathways to increasing gateway course success, the state of Kentucky is sure to see an improvement in their overall education system, increasing the quality of the workforce and economy for years to come.
