In the exploding technological industry, the world of spatial computing is by far some of the more exciting technologies to be developed. Spatial computing technology is what allows augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality (VR) to function. Already, the AR/VR consumer industry is expected to make around $31 billion dollars, however, it is expected to add another $21 billion in sales within only 4 years. Furthermore, this industry has already gained some notoriety, with the Meta Quest series and, recently, the Apple Vision Pro. By the end of the year, 1.4 billion devices are expected to be AR-capable.
Ultimately, this technology has the potential to reshape how we interact with devices in the future. Rather than using our smartphones, we can more easily use our smart, AR-enabled glasses for the same effect. While many aspects of the technology remain uncertain, it’s likely to be what many consumers will be using within the near future.
