14.5 billion spam emails are sent every day. While many of those messages are merely annoying, some are dangerous phishing attacks. Phishing is often the first of a more sophisticated attack, designed to gather login credentials or install malware that attackers can use to get into your network and launch the ransomware.
On average, employees spend 28% of their workday screening and filtering emails. If an employee clicks the wrong link in just one phishing email, your business could suffer. After an attack, businesses face ransom and recovery costs, loss of customers, and lower productivity.
Spam emails are more than a minor inconvenience. More than 60% of businesses shut down 6 months after a phishing attack. If your business becomes the victim of phishing or ransomware, there is very little you can do about it. Only three in 100,000 cybercrimes are prosecuted. Check out this infographic to learn how to defend against phishing.
