The medical industry is always growing and evolving as methods change and new technologies become available. One of the big changes that came out of the COVID pandemic was the sudden increase in the use of telemedicine.
In just the first quarter of 2020, patients received 1,629,000 telehealth visits, and 69% of patients managed their health through telemedicine during the pandemic.
Currently, telehealth is a 20+ billion dollar industry and is expected to reach $186.5 billion by 2026. Seventy-seven percent of physicians want to make the switch to telemedicine and 90% of physicians already have experience with remote treatments.
Patients are also embracing telemedicine, especially since the pandemic. Twenty-eight percent of consumers already use tech to manage their health. Since COVID, 61% of Americans have now had at least one telehealth appointment, and 80% of them want telehealth to continue after the pandemic.
Telehealth is the future of medicine.
