Some friends are coming into town and I need to figure out where to take them. It looks like we will have to drive everywhere since it is a family and they don’t have much time.A couple of places come to mind:
Golden Gate Park: We could hit all of the majors and not really leave the car. DeYoung, Conservatory of Flowers, Academy of Science, Buffalo, etc.
Twin Peaks: That is a pretty nice view during the day and night.
Embarcadero: Start at the ball park and drive along it to the pier 39. Maybe take some side streets to China Town
Aquatic Park/Pier 39: I know it touristy but Aquatic Park has a great view of Alcatraz
Fort Mason/Crissy Fields: Fort Mason is pretty cool and as you weave up to Crissy field, you can see the bridge.
Golden Gate Bridge/Marin Headlands: Got to stop here just because everyone loves it so much
Presidio: Beautiful space that has lots of great views.
Baker Beach: Also a nice view of the city
Leigon of Honor: Great drive up to it.
Cliff House/Great Highway: Sutro baths have a nice vista as well.
Golden Gate Park Windmill: Back to the park and then off to dinner.
