Some people just love to write email. They always respond or inundate you with tens of email requests with multiple questions inside each one. It can get frustrating since you want to respond but don’t want to encourage the behavior. What criteria should we use to filter it? When does excessive email from someone you know turn into Spam?
For me, I think I am going to start only answering them if they are addressed directly to me. Sometimes, you will get a long list of people that need to respond and it sometimes makes no sense that they need to respond. These are the same people that when you send them the response, they say Thank You, to the whole group. Strange. When does excessive email from someone you know turn into Spam?
Maybe it is when the questions are more than two and the email more than a half a page. I find it really hard to answer more than a couple of questions in an email. Any email over a half a page is a struggle to read unless it is from someone that respects my time and does not spam me every day. When does excessive email from someone you know turn into Spam?
It’s frustrating because if you do not respond and actually see them, they come up to you and ask “Did you get my Email?” Sure I got it, along with the 5 others that I ignored since I do have a life. Email is a great thing but is often abused in the name of expediency. I really don’t need to answer or be involved with every little decision or stream of consensus. When does excessive email from someone you know turn into Spam? When you say it does!
